Zoltan February 28, 2014 at 05:11 PM Maybe it will just move elsewhere. There isn't much wildlife around live score here for it to eat. I'd also hate to see some poor caddy get got while shagging a stray ball at the country live score club. Perhaps if tracking collars and research had been used earlier they'd be easier to manage.
Wolfe February 28, 2014 at 06:10 PM Zoltan, are you nuts??? Wildlife is NOT what mountain lions will eat when they get hungry----YOU ARE!!! And hanging around a country club will NOT help you. This one moved north, from Connecticut, more than likely. They are all over the place down here. When we get a report of one in the area, we don't hang around our country clubs. We get together and make a plan to corner, tranquilize and then hand the animal over to the proper authorities (like zoos).
Steve Pacini February 28, 2014 at 10:42 PM I have mountain biked the Fells for many years. It's loaded with fox, coyote and over the past 24 months I've noticed deer. Where you have deer it only stands to reason you eventually get something that eats them.
David Brandt March 01, 2014 at 04:51 AM in 1985 hiking the appalacian trail in Warwick N.Y. my wife, son and his friend were held at bay at our overnight camp site. the lion circled our 2 tents and campfire all night growling. We held a flashlight beam in his/her eyes and left in early morning with fear it was following us. I contacted the NYS parks/trail commission about this, and they said mountain live score lions do not occupy this part of New York. a week later my friend was sitting in his backyard in Warwick live score countryside and saw a mountain lion take down a deer.
Atowns finest March 01, 2014 at 09:38 AM Actually, there is coyotes in the woods every summer live score behind my house, and they cannot remove or even touch them because of federal wildlife laws. They say when to food source runs low they will just move on their own. Pretty sure this will be the same thing. Unless it starts killing dogs and going after people, the most they will probably do is relocate it.
Zoltan March 01, 2014 at 10:34 AM A healthy adult Mountain Lion is perfectly capable of taking down a Deer then dragging it 300 yards then stashing the carcass up a tree. The fact that this one was seen prowling around live score a farm with livestock is concerning. live score It might be sick or injured. There's also the possibility live score that it may have been raised live score in captivity and doesn't possess the necessary survival skills or a healthy fear of humans.
Barb live score Cady March 01, 2014 at 04:12 PM I along with six others walked up on a mt. lion one night in dense woods in Foxboro ma. Came within twenty feet of it. Reported it to the local police chief at the time, he didn't believe they existed.
mark March 02, 2014 at 02:34 PM Last sunday I could have sworn I saw a bob cat / something live score laying down in the break down lane of rt. 15 between Fairfield and Westport ct. when I did my double take I couldn't tell if it was dead or alive
Underthebridge IP Daily March 02, 2014 at 04:42 PM I saw a mountain lion in Bedford stalking a man while he was walking his dog on Route 62, at about midnite, I called the Bedford police and they pretty much laughed at me. This was 2002. Just because you don't see them, doesn't mean their not there. live score
Nancy Shaw March 04, 2014 at 07:11 PM Any chance this is an escapee from the Stone Zoo?
